Lent ~ Holy Week ~ Easter Sunday

Lent, for each of us and for our Church, is a time of quiet and prayerful reflection. From the time of the first liturgies celebrated on Ash Wednesday until the kindling of the Easter Fire for the Vigil on Holy Saturday, we step away from the busy world and reflect on who we are and whose we are to become. The cathedral basilica this year wishes to accompany you on your journey through Lent and invites you to join us weekly in one of our many Eucharistic liturgies, the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession), Stations of the Cross, and Eucharistic Adoration, all leading us to the great celebration of Holy Week and Easter.

The Cathedral office will be closed on Good Friday, April 18 & Easter Monday, April 21.

Jubilee Year

A Jubilee Year is a special time in the Church’s tradition encouraging holiness through acts of reconciliation and communion with our brothers and sisters. The Church celebrates an Ordinary Jubilee every twenty-five years, with the last celebration having taken place in 2000. Jubilee Year 2025 will be marked by special opportunities for grace through the Sacrament of Reconciliation, local pilgrimages and the Jubilee Indulgence. Seeking forgiveness and growing in repentance are special fruits to cultivate during a Jubilee Year.
